ABOUT US

OUR AIM

At Wright Track Coaching our aim is simple. We want to help get more athletes on to the right track to a successful future in athletics. Whether that is competing for GB at major championships or simply continuing to compete and set personal bests as a senior athlete, we want to help more aspiring young athletes reach their full potential.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Long term athlete development is at the heart of everything we do. We aim to provide each athlete the tools to unlock their potential in the sport. This involves learning key technical skills and building essential physical qualities through our Athlete Centred coaching approach.

LEAD COACH - JAMES WRIGHT

He started coaching at Rugby & Northampton AC at 16 and has continued to thrive ever since. James is now a fully qualified level 3 coach in the Sprints & Hurdles. He has also been fortunate to learn from some of the best coaches in the country during his time as an athlete and a coach at Loughborough University

THE WRIGHT TRACK

We are passionate about providing a clear, progressive and ultimately effective framework for talented young athletes to work through as they develop. This is outlined above through our Wright Track Athlete Development Pathway. This summarises everything we offer to young athletes at Wright Track Coaching and how they fit together to form a clear Pathway to guide them through their journey in the sport.

PLAYGROUND TO PODIUM

Our Athlete Development Pathway focuses on 5 key stages of a young athletes Journey. This starts with a inspiring a young child get involved with athletics and finishes with the very same child performing at a high-level as a senior athlete.

BRIDGING THE GAP

The main goal of this Pathway is to prepare an athlete to help them reach stage 5. Research by England Athletics in 2011 found that only 7% of top 20 ranked U15 athletes were still ranked in the top 20 for any event 10 years later. This highlights to difficultly of making the jump from a talented junior to a successful senior. Everything we do at Wright Track Coaching over the first four stages is designed to better prepare these athletes and help them to bridge the gap
